Morning woke up at 8 for breakfast and I went down to eat alone first! Quite an interesting experience because I was the only person having breakfast in their entire restaurant! So the staff allowed us to choose our breakfast the day before we chose quite a bit (because we paid for it right hahaha).
When I was there, the food was really quite amazing!!!! The scrambled eggs were hot and the bacons were crispy!! There were 6 types of cereals woooo! Ohhhh and the croissant.... amazing!!! I also tried their Danish pastries which were really good as well! All in all, a really great breakfast!
Then we left the hotel at around 11.10am and were preparing for a long drive to Framtid. There was heavy snow the night before and the roads were quite flooded with snow. We started to drive out of Fosshotel when we got stuck in the snow just about 200m from the hotel... We drove on the right side of the road which was not cleared by the huge vehicle, hence we got stuck in the snow. Even the four wheel drive got disabled because we tried too hard. There was a huge vehicle cleaning snow and we tried to ask for shovel and he asked us to get from the hotel, which we did. I went back to request for a shovel and we started to dig the snow away from the wheels and from the whole vehicle. We called the Blue rental hotline and they asked us to email our exact address so that they could and people down to help free out car, but it costs money, which they aren't able to advice how much.. So we decided to continue digging away the snow and reverse the vehicle for 2 hours! It was snowing really heavily with strong winds and we were freezing while trying to clear the snow! Finally, a tow truck stopped next to us... And asked if we need help.. yes of course we need, but it cost money. He said that we wouldn't be able to free the car for another 2 hours and would need to spend more time again to free the car as it would be stuck again. He charged us half price because he was the one who saw us and we didn't call for the service! So lucky us really! So it was 18,000 isk. He only took about 5 minutes to free out vehicle using his vehicle and he drove it for us abit to make sure everything is working hehe. Lucky we need a savior!!!!! Else we really need to pay even more!!!!
Then we decided to go back to Fosshotel to just rest for awhile and return the shovel. After just 30 minutes, we were back on the road!
We gave Dettifoss a mid because the road was closed and went to Egilsstadir! We just drove around the place a bit and went to Hotel Framtid!
Such a wooden little pretty hotel! Hehe. We then checked in and drove to the restaurant just nearby (Vid Voginn) to drink their spicy vegetable soup (work over free refill)! Hehe it tasted like Tom Yum but was really good! A bit sad that it wasn't as hot as I would like it to be. But it was good!
